Skip Hop - Activity Gym - Treetop Friends
This adorable Activity Gym is another beautiful baby essential made enjoyable for parents and babies by Skip Hop.
This mat has all the features that your baby will need for safe play. It has a bright colour scheme, various textures and a nature inspired design.
It features 5 hanging toys that attach to 2 soft linen padded arches that cross each other using 13 easy-to-hang loops, that allow the toys to be hung high overhead, low within reach or they can be placed onto the mat. The toys could also be removed and the hook on each can be attached to your pram tuning each into a stroller toy!
The 5 soft toys with loops for hanging include a soft squirrel, an apple, an owl with a rattle ball, a rattling bird and a musical bird.
This infant gym offers 17 skill developing activities for babies. The mat itself is made from quilted fabric printed with a child friendly forest tree design that is home to leaves that crinkle and a squeaky flower and it has a baby safe mirror in the trunk. The mirror can be removed prior to washing in the washing machine.
The gym includes a matching supportive Tummy Time pillow.
It takes only 2 minutes to assemble the mat and it comes with a plastic storage bag for later use. Just spread it out, attach the arches placing the ends inside the pockets at the corners and hang the toys!
Dimensions (assembled): 92 x 92 x 49Hcm

I was given an activity mat when my son was born, but found that the construction was all wrong (the toys hung too low and the arch went directly over the middle of the very small mat, which meant that baby boy's legs were hanging off the edge) and my son HATED being put under it. For my sanity, I splurged and bought the Skip Hop Activity Gym, and I'm so glad I did. The criss-cross arches means that the toys hang in the perfect position for baby to see and grab or kick at them when laid in the middle of the mat (but not so close that they're in his face and overwhelming him) and the overlarge mat means that all parts of baby are on the mat (and will be for a while to come). The criss-cross also means that I can change which toys get the prime position by laying baby down in a different orientation. The toys themselves are great: lots of noses when toys are kick or hit, and rings and wings hanging to tempt baby to grab. We haven't tried tummy time on the mat yet, but I'm looking forward to the day that my son discovers himself in the mirror on the mat and all the crinkly and velvety leaves (again, what baby discovers changes depending on which way you put them down). Top features for me: the toys can be hung high or low, swapped around or removed and used as stroller toys, and when baby is too big to fit under the arch or use the mat for tummy time, the mat can be hung as art work in the nursery! My favourite purchase for my son - definitely worth the splurge!
